This group is a legend. Their albums broke the records of Korean music industry and even got an award in the American MTV Video Awards! They were also the first group to have soo many fans, that they held their concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium (it’s very big I dare say…).

H.O.T debuted 1996 and their first album was named “We hate all kinds of violence” and was released 7 September 1996. The titeltrack “Warriors Descendant”, which is one of my favourites, actually got banned from the radios because of it’s strong lyrics. But instead, “Candy” came and it became no. 1 on many lists.
“Wolf and Sheep” was their second album and the second single “We are the future” made records like selling 100.000 copies in 10 days and also won American MTV’s Video Award for Best International Video. But the titletrack of the second album, “Wolf and Sheep” also got banned because of the lyrics. But once again, they came with a new hit song, “Full of Happiness/Haengbok”.
The third album, “Resurrection” was released 25 September 1998. In this album, the members themselves started writing songs. Before, famous singer Yoo Youngjin had been writing the songs. Kangta wrote the song “Beet” which means “Hope” and it actually won “King of Kings Award”.
“I Yah!” was the fourth album and now almost all songs were written by the members. The titeltrack “I Yah!” was dedicated to 23 kindergarteners that died in a fire. I got shocked when I read that these kids had been locked into a classroom, and the teacher was somewhere else when the fire started.
In “Outside Castle” all songs were written by the members. The titeltrack “Outside Castle” was written by leader Heejun and is about “people with disabilites” as it’s called. I’m very touched by this song, and also many of the other songs are very touching such as Lee Jaewon’s “Boryojin aidur /Abandoned children” and popular “Song for a Lady”.

But unfortuanly, in 2001 they disbanded. Many belive it was because of financial problems, that SM gave Moon Heejun and Kangta higher payment, but not the other three.

Today they’re all solo singers and pretty succesful. Heejun have recently returned from the military, at 20th November.
By 15th November, Jang Woohyuk entered the military.
